Kin Zen is on the star ship Voyager, exploring the outer galaxy. When the Voyager arrives on a new planet, Kin is part of the team that goes looking for new forms of life. They capture a bizarre alien creature, but it soon becomes clear that the creature has powers beyond those of its human captors. Who — or what — is in control of the ship? And does Kin hold the answer to the crew's survival?
